Medical marijuana will be available throughout the country in the pharmacies of Macedonia by the end of May. Thus the Minister of Health Nikola Todorov announced at a press conference a few days ago.
Minister also stated that procedures to ensure production licenses are underway. According to him, changes in the Macedonian law on drugs and psychotropic substances had been introduced to help "people suffering from serious illnesses, such as malignant diseases, multiple sclerosis, HIV and childhood epilepsy."
Furthermore, along with the medical products agency he is willing to invite international experts to teach Macedonian health professionals and pharmacists about safe and effective use of medical marijuana.
According to the latest surveys in Macedonia, about 70% of the population agrees with the change in the legislation.
