In memory of Franco Loja

In memory of Franco Loja

Durch: Roberto Kannabia Aktivismus

Franco Loja, a well-known breeder and one of the leading roles of the well known video series Strain Hunters, died on Monday 2 January because of a malaria stroke.

At the time of his death he was collaborating in a project to fight against malaria; disease that took his life at 42, after a lifetime devoted to help people and to his love for marijuana.

In addition to his work as a breeder, in 2007 Franco Loja started a new adventure with Arjan Roskam: Strain Hunters, a famous video series that reached more than 60,000 subscribers. Both toured several countries looking for the rarest varieties of marijuana to produce new crosses.

Franco was not only a great activist and professional, he was loved and admired by all those who knew him. Zoe, manager of Kannabia, has wanted to dedicate a few words to his recently died friend:

Friend, amore… Rest in peace.
Love for your family.
RIP

The world of cannabis has been shocked by Franco’s death. The tributes, dedications and words of encouragement to his family flood the social networks, blogs and cannabis media. The team of the seed company for which Franco Loja worked for more than a decade, wanted to pay a tribute to him through their website and the Facebook page with a heart-touching message:

Franco is an icon and helped change so many peoples lives. He will deeply be missed as a brother, father, son, friend and so much more.

Cannabis is my passion, my bread, my home. I feel it is my duty to make sure this amazing plant is preserved and enjoyed. I am a smoker, a grower, a breeder, and a strain hunter. For life.
