Sad news for the cannabis world: activist Nol van Schaik has passed away

Durch: Contributor Aktivismus

From Kannabia, we want to honor the memory of Nol van Schaik, who suddenly died in his sleep last weekend at his home in Spain.

We also want to remember the great figure Nol was (and will continue to be, for History): we are talking about one of strongest advocates for the legalization of cannabis and the rights of its users, worldwide. A tireless cannabis activist, a freedom fighter, who started, decades ago, as a successful entrepreneur, opening three coffee shops and founding the Global Hemp Museum in Haarlem (Holland) and inaugurating the first coffee shop in the United Kingdom, “Dutch Experience“, in Stockport.

During his career he mainly focused on fighting for the rights of individuals to free access to cannabis, and for the right of coffee shops to professionalization, facilitating a regulated access to cannabis in order to provide a better service to its users.

His activism and professionalism became manifest with initiatives such as the „Ganja Book of World Records“, and more recently, during his management of the renowned coffee shop “Willy Wortels” in the Netherlands, home of the Cannabis Olympics, or Cannalympics.
The Kannabia Seeds team wishes to express our deepest condolences to family and friends. The cannabis community is mourning today; a big one is gone …

RIP Nol van Schaik
