Everything ready for Spannabis 2022

De: Contributor Cultura

Everyone’s looking forward to Spannabis! The greatest cannabis fair in Spain and Europe is finally reopening its doors in Barcelona on 11th-13th March, after having been cancelled for the past two years due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The 2022 edition marks the 18th anniversary of an event that will bring cannabis lovers and professionals together to celebrate the return to a much longed-for normality on the European fair circuit. These are the key points to Spannabis 2022, a cannabis fair that is coming back strong and which Kannabia clearly couldn’t miss!

It’s been far too long since March 2020, when, in the midst of the Coronavirus crisis, the annual edition of Spannabis was cancelled by order of the Catalonian authorities, just two days before its inauguration. After this ‘force majeure’ caused the cancellation of the event, Spannabis was postponed several more times, with an online edition finally being held last spring. But all this waiting can finally be forgotten this Friday when Spannabis 2022, the 18th edition of the cannabis fair with the most history and tradition on this side of the Atlantic, finally reopens its doors at the Fira de Cornellà exhibition centre.

This year, a high attendance is expected during the three days of the fair, where exhibitors, professionals, and visitors will be able to exchange views, make new contacts, and look for potential clients in a multicultural, family atmosphere. Attendees will be able to visit the different stands and find out information about the various services and products offered by more than 280 exhibiting companies, which will be distributed across an area of over 17,000 m2 and will include more than 3900 accredited professionals.

Here are the highlights of this edition, which looks like it’ll be just as intense as it will be entertaining.

Conferences as the connecting thread

Although the fair opens its doors to the general public on Friday 11th March, in reality Spannabis starts on Thursday 10th March, with the International Cannabis Business Conference. This is a B2B networking event for business owners, held in the Cornellà Auditorium, that seeks to demonstrate that the Spanish cannabis industry continues to grow each day and is therefore becoming a sector with high investment potential. More than 80 countries will be represented in this super conference, which include representatives from all areas of the cannabis industry, as well as political, social, and cultural leaders.

From Friday, Spannabis Barcelona 2022 will also hold the 8th edition of the World Cannabis Conferences. This is another space for the general public that brings together all the international news and knowledge about cannabis. Scientists, legalists, historians, activists, and politicians from the US, Mexico, Slovenia, Spain, and Holland will address topics as diverse as the therapeutic use of cannabis, the regulation of cannabis in Spain, or the current state of this plant in the US and Latin America. The conferences will include both talks and discussions, and will take place in the Cornellà Auditorium, which can be accessed from the main venue. Entrance is free until full capacity is reached (800 people).

Drinks and music as part of the show

The Spannabis Champions Cup will be held on 11th March. This is the cannabis cup of reference in our country and one of the most important worldwide, which aims to find the best strains of the year amongst those presented by expert breeders and growers. These will compete for cash prices in categories such as Best Sativa, Best Indica, and Best CBD-rich strain, as well as in the Best Solvent extraction, Rosin, or Hash categories. The award ceremony will take place in the Cornellà Auditorium starting at 20:00.

As has become customary by now, Spannabis is also dedicating part of its programme to music performances to transform the days into much more than an exhibition. The space will also be used to have fun and dance to the rhythm of artists like Barbass Sound, Sharin Skank, Purple Rockets, Paula Bu, Women Soldiers, Full Spectrum Selectors, Suka, Karlixx, and DJ Rambla. The performances will take place in the entrance area of the venue, in front of the main hall, between 11:00 and 19:30 on each of the three days (i.e. 5 artists or groups per day). In addition, the 420 Backyard Battle, the most important cannabis freestyle rap competition in our country, will be held on Sunday at 14:30.

Kannabia at Spannabis 2022

And finally, the icing on the cake of this three day event is by far and away the cannabis exhibition which you can find in the main building of the Fira de Cornellà. This is one of the largest exhibitions of the cannabis sector, where you can visit all of the stands and get more information about the various services and products offered by the exhibiting companies, including all the latest developments of the industry.

Kannabia will be located at stand number 68, right in front of the restaurant and the exit to Tirso de Molina street, where our team will be very happy to assist you and show you all the latest for this season. Among other things, we have 12 new seed varieties that will certainly captivate all growers, plus lots of free Kannabia merchandising for all those who visit our stand.

We’re really excited to see our clients again after such a long time, and we’ll be waiting for you at this year’s Spannabis, which promises to be truly sensational!
