The Rototom Festival, a festival of peace love and music

“Stand Up For Earth” is the theme of this edition. A theme that reinforces the festival commitment to the defence of human rights and peace and the protection of the environment.

In its 26th edition, Rototom Festival is once again confirmed as the largest European and worldwide reggae festival.

With music, events and activities for all audiences, it started on August 16thin Benicasim and ended on August 23rd

A week to enjoy the vibrations of a colorful, supportive and multicultural “global village” with the usual wide musical variety as usual: Ziggy Marley, Busy Signal, Chronixx, Queen Ifrica or Marcia Griffith.

The theme that inspired and moved this new edition of the festival is "Stand Up For Earth". The care for the environment was reflected in some specific measures: more than 70 new olive trees have been planted in the campsite to create new areas of shade; solar panels have been installed and LED lighting used achieving an energy saving of 84% and only compostable plates and cutlery were used.

As always, Rototom is committed, not only to protecting the environment but also to defending human rights and peace, and these principles were reflected in the festival various areas: the Pachamama area, the African Village, Reggae University or the Social Forum (a set of multidisciplinary spaces offering activities, workshops, plays, dance shows, juggling, conferences, etc.). This year, the festival also opened an area for teenagers, the “Teen Yard”. Also, as in previous editions, there was a special area entirely dedicated for children, the “Magicomundo”.

During the hot hours of the day, people enjoyed the visit to the festival’s official beach bar the Solé Rototom Beach, in the Gururgú beach in Castellón. There, they have had the opportunity to attend dancehall classes in the afternoon, yoga classes and DJ sessions right on the beach. Perfect to recover your strength!

It can be said that Rototom is much more than a music festival, and not only because of the variety of activities and initiatives offered, but also because the gathering breathes a peace, respect and freedom atmosphere that makes it unique compared to other festivals in Europe.
